We need your help! Manchuka wants to be the opening act for the Tower of Power show at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom on July 29th. We are trying to get in front of the right people. We want to talk to anyone from ToP's organization or anyone that has any great ideas about how to make this happen..

Update! |
The great people at the Hampton Beach Casino Ballroom have been very helpful. They let us know that the headliner (ToP) has the final say on the opening act. So we need to get to ToP's promoter/agent/manager or whoever, to plead our case.
According to the great people at the Hampton Casino Ballroom,
"They (the ToP people) have requested a radio dj to open the show."
This is both good news and bad news.
The bad news is, as of right now, the show will have a radio DJ as the opening act.
The good news is they haven't already booked a live band.

A Little History
Last year when ToP played at Hampton Beach, they had a solo acoustic guitar guy as an opening act. The guy was a good player. The problem was, he was not appropriate for the audiance. There was a room full of a couple thousand ToP fans.
You know the kind, tight, funky, in-your-face horn-headed Tower of Power fans suffering from Honky Pox and ready for a Soul Vaccination. You don't put a solo acoustic guitar guy if front of that audiance. You'd have been better off showing Seinfeld reruns.
It would be much more appropriate to feature a great local funky horn band as the opening act. The audiance will relate to it because that's what they came to see! The Hampton Casino Ballroom and ToP have done this in the past. The Heavy Metal Horns out of Boston opened for ToP a number of times. Great local band, totally appropriate for the audience.

"God bless the guy they had open for them. A Bob Dylanesque performer, his stuff was listenable, but man talk about the other end of the musical spectrum. He was on for about 20 minutes and the crowd was respectful and courteous, if anyone besides me was thinking WTH? it didn't show."

What you can do to help. |
First, sign the petition! If we can show Tower of Power that a lot of people support Manchuka it will mean something.
SPREAD THE WORD. TELL EVERYONE TO SIGN THE PETITION AND COME TO THE SHOWS!
If you know anyone with the Tower of Power organization, let them know about us. Visit the Tower of Power website (http://towerofpower.com/) . There are links to their Facebook page, Twitter and their Message Board at the bottom of the page.

MOST IMPORTANT , plan on being there! We make this happen and we can all meet in Hampton and party before the gig! How fun would it be for the Manchuka Mob to hang at a beach bar on a July afternoon before going to see Manchuka open for TOWER of POWER!
